Magical History Tour with the Massachusetts 54th: Time travel @ your library with Charleston’s famed Civil War reenactment group, the Massachusetts 54th, Co. I! (all ages)
As part of an all-day, all-ages Black History Month Celebration event at St. Andrews Regional Library, the Massachusetts 54th will be encamped in front of the St. Andrews Regional Library. You are invited to interact with them and explore the world of our country’s first African-American soldiers through period clothing, weapons, equipment, and more.

The Plantation Singers (ages 11 and under)
Celebrate Black History Month @ your library! Sing along with the Plantation Singers as we learn about Gullah culture in the South Carolina Lowcountry.
Massachusetts 54th, Company I, Presentation (all ages)
Learn about the history of the real Massachusetts 54th, the African-American, Union Army heroes of Battery Wagner, whose remains are interred on Morris Island in Charleston Harbor and watch an authentic Civil War era military demonstration!3 PM
Hip Hop Hooks on Black History (ages 10 and up)
African-American history with a beat! For students, this is the perfect complement to the study of the history of famous African Americans in a traditional classroom setting. Learn about slavery, Booker T. Washington, W.E.B. DuBois, Martin L. King, Jr., Malcolm X, Brown v. Board of Education, and Firsts (first African American achievements) in a new way!

2010 Tax Forms are available in the lobby on a first come basis.
Please stop by or call the Information Desk at 766-2546 or for help with questions about the availability of tax forms.
Free tax preparation assistance will be offered by AARP volunteers on the following Fridays: February 4th, 11th, and 18th, March 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th, and April 1st, 8th, and 15th from 10 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
The last person will be accepted at 1 PM.
Senior citizens will have preference. A current picture ID and Social Security card are required, along with the Social Security cards of any dependents. CLICK HERE for info on income tax preparation assistance at all CCPL branches.

African American Genealogy Workshop (adults)
Join us for a two-part lecture by Wevonedda Minis, Lowcountry expert in African American genealogical research and writer of the Charleston Post and Courier's Kinship feature.
Each session will be followed by a 30-minute question and answer period. Part 1, called Digging Your Roots, will cover basic and intermediate genealogical skills. Part 2, called Researching African Americans in the Wake of the Civil War, is an intermediate genealogy lecture on how to trace African Americans as they shed slave identities and assumed free identities.
